Puerto vallarta mexico

Puerto Vallarta is a city of 400,000 on the west coast of Mexico. Its principal income is from tourism.
We took an excursion that included a tequila factory.

We go to tour a Tequila Factory. We must pass through many vendors.

The tour begins explaining the harvest of the bottom of the Blue Agave plant. It takes 8 years to maturity.

The portion used for tequila is called a pineapple. It first must be cooked in fire and then chopped.

The result is mashed to squeeze all liquid from it.

Modern method of extracting the agave juice.

The agave juice is then fermented for several days in this stainless steel container.

The fermented juice is called "Wort". It is then distilled in the corner container with a boiling process turning the product to steam then cooled to produce tequila.

We then had a tasting of 5 varieties of tequila. Our tour guide drank all 5 for each tour. He was very happy.

Sign upon leaving the tour for the restrooms. We all were in a great mood after touring the tequila factory.
