HONDURAS PAGE

On February 3rd our cruise ship stopped at the Central American country of Honduras.

It has a population of 10 million in an area of 43,000 Square miles.

Seventy three percent of the population are below the poverty level.

Our docking was very calm and orderly.

The deck hand first tosses a small rope with a red lead ball to the shore.

Four dock workers catch the rope.

The other end is tied to larger ropes.

The final rope is 6" thick.

The huge rope is secured to the dock. There are two of these secured on each end of the ship.

We disembark on Roatan Island Honduras at Mahogany Bay.

We first tour a botanical garden.
