HIGHLANDS RANCH TORNADO PAGE 1

On June 22, 2023 a F1 Tornado went through our neighborhood. The path was 2-3 blocks wide and 6.48 miles long. The tornado was on the ground for 26 minutes. The county estimated there were over 16,000 trees that were downed. The photo above was taken east of Eastridge Rec Center. It was heading straight for the photographer.

VIDEO OF SPRINGER PARK

At 2 PM we are on a walk into the open space and see this.

For most of the hike we thought the storm was going to go north of us.

Shortly after getting home we get this on our phones.

We look on our weather app and see this. But at the same time a look outside had us scrambling to get to the basement.

After the rain stops we see our neighbors to the north have damage.

Our neighbor to the south also has damage. A tree landed on their roof and put a hole into the living room.

Our trees only lose branches but the fence has damage.

Our neighbor to the north has their fence blown to the west while the tree was blown to the north.

The street light is twisted proving a tornado went through our neighborhood.

A house a block to the east at the entrance to Springer Park has severe damage.

The house has damage from a tree.

The homes back yard.

On our walk we go 1 block east of Springer Park and 2 blocks east of our house.

Most of the trees are either pine or cottonwood.

Every house on this street has damage to trees either in the front or back or both.

A house on a corner that lost nearly all their trees.

Many fences were taken down.

This is the entrance from the west to Springer Park. See Page 2 photos of the park.
